Curt started his passion for photography at age 9 by documenting the Zoo with his Kodak Brownie. His parents should have known something was up when he shot 12 exposures in less than an hour and asked for more film! By 11 he was taking better slides of buildings than his Dad who designed them, using Dad's 35mm Olympus rangefinder.

High school brought on the school Newspaper and Yearbook - he was the youngest student to get front page photos published regularly and added many images to the sports section of the yearbook. A Pentax Spotmatic was the first SLR, then a Nikkormat, and finally with two summers of part time jobs the first real Nikon, the just released F2.

College found Curt shooting for the Newspaper and Yearbook again, as well as editing the Yearbook. He was first Freshman editor of the Yearbook in the College's history and kept the job for all four years. He added another F2 and a couple of Nikkor lenses and spent a lot of time in the darkroom. Back at home in the summers he shot sports and features for the local paper as well as portraits and weddings.

F2's morphed into F3's and ACME Photo was started. Thousands of rolls of film later Curt went to a demo given by photographer Micky Kienitz about digital photography and was instantly hooked. PhotoShop was version 1 and pixel counts were 1 mega but it was obvious that digital was on the way.

A Nikon Coopix 990 was my introduction to pocket digital, then the Fuji Finepix S2 SLR to use in the studio. The D2x finalized the move back to Nikon proper and Photoshop kept changing to the current version 11 (CS4).

D2's morphed into D3's and photography is now more exciting and challenging than ever. Seeing an image come to life in Lightroom still gives Curt the same thrill as watching it come up in the tray, and it always will ! After all, it's all about the image !
